Description
Former Whites City, New Mexico Museum Collection collected by Bill Brown
While chyrsotile is categorized as a serpentine asbestos (as opposed to a amphibole asbestos), and is not generally associated with the carcinogenic risks of asbestos, there is always a chance of other asbestos minerals being found in association. So, this specimen (and associated milled sample) should be displayed only in a closed cabinet or in its own closed container and not handled regularly. Not recommended for a collection frequently handled by children.
